Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest transfer news linking them with a move to sign Israeli striker Shon Weissman.

The Telegraph recently published an article about Odsonne Edouard and talked about Arsenal’s interest in the Frenchman. The report went on to state that the Hoops are considering a move for Weissman and they see the Wolfsberger striker as a replacement for Edouard.

Starting with an easy one: which Italian club did Nakamura join Celtic from?

The outlet called Weissman one of the Celtic’s ‘priorities’ if the Hoops look to improve their attacking options in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Daily Record relayed this information on Twitter. Many Celtic fans rushed to it, with some of them making clear that they would welcome a move for the striker.

Should Celtic sign Shon Weissman to replace Edouard?

Some other Hoops fans though, refused to believe this news and had some criticism for the Daily Record.

Another Celtic fan focused on Weissman in their tweet, and seemed pretty delighted that the club was reportedly after the striker.

While there are diverse opinions about the news, some do think that Weissman could be a good signing for the Hoops.

Still 24, Weissman has been a regular and consistent goalscorer for Wolfsberger this season. He has played 30 games in all competitions, scoring as many as 29 goals and also getting four assists. In the Austrian Bundesliga, Weissman has found the net 22 times in 21 games (via Transfermarkt).

Those are very impressive numbers indeed. Since this is Weissman’s first season in Austria, it arguably shows that he is good at adapting to new surroundings. This should be a promising thing for Celtic fans and suggests that the 24-year-old may be the right choice to replace Edouard if he leaves.
