Many Birmingham City supporters have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Blues-focused journalist Brian Dick that includes a link to an article from Birmingham Live, which shares some comments that ex-Blues manager and current Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry recently made regarding Marcus Maddison.

This article contains quotes from Fry who has declared that Birmingham City would be “absolutely mad” not to make a move for Maddison once he becomes a free agent this summer.

Earlier this season, the 26-year-old playmaker joined Hull City on loan from Peterborough United. As per the Peterborough Telegraph, Maddison “turned down the chance” to join both Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic back in January, instead opting to make a loan move to Hull City prior to becoming a free agent in the summer. The Peterborough Telegraph also explain that Maddison expects to “secure a better financial package” upon making his next move by first becoming a free agent.

Dick’s tweet sharing Fry’s recent comments regarding Maddison has caught the attention of plenty of Blues fans who have been sharing some mixed views on the player in response to this post.

Some Birmingham supporters appear to be in favour of their side making a move for the 26-year-old playmaker.

However, other Blues fans were less positive about the idea of Maddison joining Birmingham City, with some raising questions about the playmaker’s attitude.

Maddison delivered some impressive performances for Peterborough United earlier this season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in his 22 League One appearances for the Posh this term, as per WhoScored.

As he is set to become a free agent this summer, it may be understandable why Fry has urged his former club to make a move for the 26-year-old playmaker, especially given that they previously showed some interest in signing him back in January.
