Birmingham City-focused Twitter account @BCFC_News caught the attention of many Blues supporters recently after they posted a tweet that included a link to an article that was recently published by BirminghamLive, which claims that Kerim Mrabti will depart St. Andrew’s this summer.

The report states that while Mrabti’s contract is currently set to expire at the end of June, he “will temporarily extend” his deal to feature in Birmingham’s remaining nine games of the 2019/20 campaign, with the Championship currently set to restart on the weekend of 20th June

However, this report also claims that an option for the club to extend Mrabti’s current deal by another year “has not been invoked” and the attacker is looking at other options at present.

A lot of Blues fans have been sharing their thoughts on this alleged news in response to @BCFC_News’ tweet.

Plenty of Birmingham supporters replied to this post by stating that they disagree with this decision, with one Blues fan stating that this “makes no sense at all”.

To kick off this quiz on 2019/20 Championship goalkeepers, can you name which goalkeeper has kept the highest number of clean sheets in the Championship this season?

Would you like to see Kerim Mrabti at St. Andrew's next season?

YES, KEEP HIM

YES, KEEP HIM

NO, LET HIM GO

NO, LET HIM GO

However, some Blues supporters did seem to be in agreement with this decision, with one Birmingham fan stating that Mrabti doesn’t have the quality that the club needs.

Mrabti has featured in 15 league games for Blues during the 2019/20 campaign. The attacker has scored just two Championship goals and provided just one league assist this term, according to WhoScored. With that in mind, it may be understandable why Birmingham City have made the decision to part ways with the 26-year-old.
