Premiership side Livingston reportedly want a fee of £2 million to part ways with Celtic transfer target Lyndon Dykes.

The Daily Mail recently reported that the Hoops are one of the clubs interested in the Australia-born striker, while their Old Firm rivals are also in the race for the Livingston forward, as are the likes of Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic and Barnsley.

Starting with an easy one: which Italian club did Nakamura join Celtic from?

League One side Sunderland are also one of the clubs interested, although their financial worries may not allow them to make a move.

Dykes has been contracted to Livingston since the winter of 2019, when he was loaned back out to former club Queen of the South until the end of the 2018/19 season. The 2019/20 campaign was his first full season at Livingston.

The 24-year-old had a hand in 22 goals in all competitions. In the Premiership alone, he scored nine goals and picked up eight assists (via Transfermarkt).

Do you want Celtic to pay £2million for Dykes?

Surely, why not?

For Queen of the South, Dykes had contributed to 57 goals in 136 appearances as well, 23 of them being goals (via Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

Dykes’ goal contribution numbers for Livingston and Queen of the South are very good indeed. It shows that he certainly has the quality to score and assist on a regular basis.

Celtic had begun to use a 3-5-2 formation more often since the turn of the year and playing two strikers on a regular basis demands some more depth in that department. Considering Dykes is only 24 and would reportedly cost the Hoops only £2 million, he may not be a bad option to increase the depth that Celtic have in their frontline when taking his level of goalscoring input into account.
