On the topic of Boly and a potential new contract for him at Molineux, Edwards shared an update on the current situation.

He said: “[I] checked in with the club earlier on this week and checked it out with a few people. It seems to be that they think he is contracted until 2023. So that would mean that he would have signed a five-year deal when he first arrived in 2018 on a permanent basis.

“The situation with the contract and perhaps signing a new contract may still stand, I’m told that it’s not something that is perhaps the biggest kind of priority if he is contracted until 2023 – that seems to be the belief.

“But either way, I don’t think there’s any scope to worry about his future, to be honest, he seems happy at Wolves.

“Wolves have got a top-class defender there, and the belief is that he’s going to stay with Wolves for these years to come.”

The Frenchman signed to Wolves on a permanent basis back in the 2018 summer transfer window for a fee of £10.8 million after spending the previous season on loan from Porto (per Transfermarkt).

Despite only making 15 Premier League appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, Boly has been very impressive in these appearances, having earnt himself a season rating of 7.26/10, making him Wolves’ third highest-rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Considering how impressive Boly has been in the Premier League games he’s played in so far this season, it will perhaps be good news for the fans to hear Edwards’ claim that there are no doubts surrounding Boly’s future at Wolves.
