Castles discussed other things like the Newcastle United takeover and Liverpool wanting to sell Dejan Lovren.

Still, he spent a bit of time on Jimenez and mentioned Juventus’ interest in the Mexican.

Here is what Castles had to say in full about Jimenez.

“Juventus, whose cash problems we have discussed on the podcast and need to move players out before bringing players in is prevalent in terms of their transfer policy, want Jimenez – they see him as a potential major upgrade on Gonzalo Higuain, who they are trying to get off their wage bill at all costs.

“They’ve been suggesting at the Italian end that a deal could be done for about €60m total value, with players moving from Juventus to Wolves in exchange.

“Wolves want to make it clear that is impossible. They value the player at €100m; that’s their asking price.”

It seems as if, according to Castles, Jimenez is not leaving Molineux on the cheap.

TIF Thoughts…

Juventus were linked with a move for the Wolves striker earlier this week, and Jimenez has talked about possibly leaving Molineux, but it seems as if any hope of Juventus getting him on a cheap has been shattered. (02:15)

The 29-year-old has been in superb form this season scoring 23 goals for the Old Gold in all competitions, and he has played a key role in Wolves’ push for the European spots having scored 14 Premier League goals.

It is no surprise then that the likes of Juventus are sniffing around, but if Castles is correct, then he won’t be leaving for anything less than €100 million. (02:15)

It will be interesting to see how this situation develops as the summer goes on.
