Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the reported news that former Sporting Director Paul Mitchell is set to leave RB Leipzig to join AS Monaco.
According to L’Equipe (via Ricky Sacks), the former Spurs man is set to leave Leipzig to join AS Monaco as their new sporting director. The 38-year-old left the Lilywhites back in 2016, with The Guardian suggesting that his dream job had turned into a nightmare during his time with the North London club.
However, he could now be set to hand his old side a huge boost in their reported efforts to appoint Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos. It has been widely reported in recent months that the Portuguese director was keen to leave Lille and he was subsequently linked with a move to Spurs, perhaps due to his relationship with Lilywhites boss Jose Mourinho. It was also suggested, however, that a return to his old side Monaco could be on the cards, so now that they appear close to appointing Mitchell, it seems as if Spurs can arguably be considered the favourites to appoint Campos this summer.

Overall, it doesn’t seem as if a lot of Spurs fans are convinced that this update means that they are any closer to appointing Campos. It was also recently suggested that the 55-year-old wants to just see changes being made at Les Dogues, rather than wanting to leave, so perhaps he won’t be going anywhere.
