Leeds United-focused Twitter account @LeedsUnitedYEP recently posted a tweet that included a link to an article from the Yorkshire Evening Post which shares some comments that Nottingham Forest defender Michael Dawson recently made detailing he and his team’s ambition for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

This article shares some comments that Dawson recently made during an appearance on TalkSPORT where he declared that Forest are “looking forward to getting back where we left off” when the Championship restarts on the weekend of 20th June

The 36-year-old defender went on to say that he hopes he and his side can continue their run, before stating that Forest are “hunting West Brom and Leeds down”, with those two clubs currently occupying the top two positions on the Championship table

After this article including these comments was shared on Twitter by @LeedsUnitedYEP, a lot of Whites supporters flocked to this tweet to have their say on Dawson’s claims.

Plenty of the Leeds fans who replied to this post didn’t seem to be concerned by the prospect of Forest challenging the Whites’ league position, with one Leeds fan taking the opportunity to wish Dawson and Forest luck.

Nice easy one to start. Who is this current Leeds man?

Is Michael Dawson delusional?

YES

YES

NO

NO

One Leeds fan described Dawson as an “optimist” in response to his comments, while another Whites supporter shared that they believe that the 36-year-old centre-back is “delusional”.

Some Leeds fans shared that they believe Forest, who currently sit in fifth place on the Championship table, should keep their attention on securing a place in the playoffs, instead of targeting one of the two automatic promotion places.

Forest are 11 points behind Leeds on the league table at present. They lost their most recent Championship game and they won just one of their last six league fixtures prior to the postponement of the professional game in England back in March. With that in mind, it may be fair to say that Forest weren’t on a particularly impressive run before the Championship was forced to go on a break and it may be understandable why these Leeds fans don’t seem to be concerned by Dawson’s comments.
