Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest transfer rumour, which links the North London club with a move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.
According to Alexis Bernard in Le10 Sport (via Daily Hotspur), Jose Mourinho is very interested in signing the Portuguese international this summer. Wolves signed the middleman from Porto in 2017 and he helped them to promotion from the Championship in his first season, averaging an impressive 7.20 rating for his performances, having contributed six goals in 42 appearances (per WhoScored).
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has since established themselves as strong contenders for European football, earning a spot in the Europa League in their first season back in the top flight, whilst this season has seen them improve further; with the Old Gold currently occupying sixth position in the Premier League table. Their 23-year-old midfielder has been a regular in both of these campaigns; making 35 appearances last season and appearing in every game in the top flight so far this campaign (per WhoScored).
Spurs already spent big on fellow midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso in recent transfer windows, but if Mourinho is truly a big fan of the Wolves ace, perhaps he will do everything he can to convince Daniel Levy that the £36 million-rated man would be a worthwhile addition ahead of next season.

Other Spurs fans expressed doubts about how they would be able to afford the 23-year-old, however.
I would love him at my club but there is just no way we can afford him

And will remain only on interest, I emphasize TOTTENHAM HAVE NO MONEY FOR TRANSFERS

Overall it seems as if a lot of Lilywhites supporters would love to see their club make a move for Neves this summer, although it would perhaps be a surprise to see them spend big on another midfielder, especially when it has already been reported that Mourinho will be reliant on free transfers and swap deals for his transfer business this summer.
