On the latest episode of The Extra Inch (Tottenham Hotspur Podcast), Chris Miller (WindyCOYS), Nathan Clark and @BardiTFC have been discussing the latest goings-on at the North London club, including a brief discussion on Juan Foyth and Jan Vertonghen.

Both players look likely to depart the North London club this summer, with Juan Foyth seemingly close to joining Championship side Leeds United on loan next season, whilst Jan Vertonghen is perhaps still deciding on his next club, with his current deal at Spurs set to expire later this month.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

The trio were discussing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma and whether or not he would be better than the club’s current centre-back options, when they briefly came onto the topic of Foyth and Vertonghen, with Miller saying:

“We’ve got these question marks over Jan Vertonghen going and Juan Foyth, we expect both to not be at the club, probably Vertonghen having left on a free and probably Foyth being on loan for a season maybe.”

TIF Thoughts…

Foyth has made just 32 appearances for the Lilywhites since joining the club from Estudiantes back in 2017, so it would be good to see him get regular game-time with Leeds United should he join the Whites on loan ahead of next season. Hopefully, from a development perspective, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be able to secure promotion to the top-flight, to allow the Argentinian defender game-time at the highest level in England.

Will you be sad to see Vertonghen and Foyth (on loan) leave?

Vertonghen meanwhile, looks set to leave after a long stint with the North London club. The Belgian international joined from Ajax in 2012 and has gone on to make 311 appearances for the Lilywhites; contributing 14 goals and seven assists (per Transfermarkt). It will be interesting to see where the 33-year-old ends up this summer, but based on the comments from Miller, it seems unlikely that he will be signing a contract extension with Jose Mourinho’s side.
