Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been flocking to an image of Jose Mourinho that was shared to Twitter by Spurs’ official account.

On Friday, Spurs posted an image of the club’s Portuguese manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (per Tottenham Hotspur).

The post was then accompanied by the comment: ‘The gaffer, back home.’

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid manager has been at the helm of the North London club since November last year, having replaced Mauricio Pochettino (per BBC).

Spurs’ former Argentine manager had been sacked a day prior to Mourinho’s appointment with the club sat 14th in the Premier League table (per BBC).

Tottenham now sit eighth in the top flight of English football, trailing the fifth-placed Red Devils by four points (per BBC).

However, after the club shared the image of their manager on social media, lots of fans flocked to the tweet to share their reactions.

Since his appointment, Mourinho has overseen 26 matches as manager of Spurs; 11 have been won, five drawn and ten lost (per Transfermarkt).

During his time in North London so far, Mourinho’s record has seen the club earn a points-per-game total of 1.46.

This is, in fact, the worst record over a managerial stint that the Portuguese 57-year-old has ever had during his career as a gaffer.

So, while some fans were positive towards Mourinho following the club’s post, other supporters were not as enthusiastic.
