In the latest ‘The View from The Lane’ podcast for The Athletic, Jack Pitt-Brooke, Charlie Eccleshare, and James Maw discussed a variety of topics involving the North London club, including a discussion on what Lilywhites fans can expect to see in the summer transfer window.

The trio spoke on the latest podcast, which included a discussion of what the summer transfer window might look like for the North London club. Of course, the financial side of football is set to be impacted severely by the current viral outbreak, with Spurs themselves recently taking out a £175 million loan from the Bank of England (per Evening Standard).

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

When asked about how this might impact Spurs’ transfer business this summer, Eccleshare replied, saying:

“Well, my understanding is that any outgoings transfer-wise will be [dependent on] money that’s come in, so if they can get a few players off the wage bill and off the books, then they’ll have a bit of money available, but otherwise, it will mainly be free transfers and that kind of thing. It’ll come down to smart scouting and developing the players that they have, the young guys that are coming through.”

Can you see Spurs making any marquee signings this summer?

TIF Thoughts…

It will be interesting to see which, if any, players are moved on by Spurs this season, in order to raise funds for transfers. It has been suggested that the likes of Kyle-Walker Peters, Danny Rose, and Juan Foyth (per Football.london) could all depart the North London club this summer, but even if all three were to leave, that is perhaps unlikely to raise enough for a marquee signing.

The Lilywhites have been linked with plenty of free transfer deals over the past few months, such as Willian, Ryan Fraser and Thomas Meunier, but we will just have to wait and see who the club bring in ahead of next season.
