A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from the Daily Telegraph regarding the Toon’s proposed takeover.
The Telegraph claims that should the Premier League reject the takeover, Saudi Arabia would be powerless to challenge the decision.
This is because opponents of the deal believe that alleged evidence of piracy would leave no legal grounds.
These claims have angered these Toon fans, who feel that this is total rubbish.
Do you believe this report?
No, It is absolute rubbish
Yes, we could be in trouble
This is nonsense.

Just hurry up and pull the plug then, stop this hopeless optimism
— Jake Crooks (@Jakeholio) June 18, 2020
This is a nonsense. Trust me. Of course they will be able to challenge it.

The idea of Saudi Arabia having no legal grounds to appeal should their takeover of Newcastle be blocked has come from opponents of the deal – so was it ever likely they were going to say anything positive?
Certainly, these Newcastle fans feel that this a joke of an article because, in their eyes, it is essentially propaganda.
The telegraph could also write PIF feel they would be in a very strong position to challenge a rejection by the Premier League. Another example of lazy click bait Journalism to stir the pot.

Opponents of the deal BELIEVE, that’s like saying the PL have no choice but to approve the Saudis takeover… supporters of the deal BELIEVE, those kind of guarantees you can’t take to the bank.

Said Bein ? however in the real world they really would have grounds to appeal and would likely take it to CAS preventing preventing PL from being judge and jury

Says who?
Oh aye the telegraph ?

The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium has been with the Premier League for a while now after a deposit was paid to Mike Ashley.
However, concerns over piracy have caused huge issues, and the findings from a WTO report proved that pirate TV station BeoutQ is from Saudi Arabia and is operated by individuals from that country; however, it did not accuse anyone from the Saudi government of having involvement.
BeIN Sports has also submitted a QC’s opinion to the PL, urging them to block the takeover because there is another bid on the table.
That bid is from Henry Mauriss, but at the moment, nothing can happen with that unless the Premier League fails Staveley’s.
This piece in The Telegraph has understandably annoyed many Toon fans because it is just expressing one opinion from the opposition to this takeover.
It remains to be seen what the PL decides to do, but it is unclear how long that will take after chief executive Richard Masters confirmed that there was no timescale for this process.
