A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has included an article from the Daily Mirror about Amanda Staveley.

Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

It is claimed that the takeover bid led by Staveley is set to take a ‘back seat’ as she turns her attention towards a High Court case.

Staveley is suing Barclays Bank for £1.6bn, accusing the bank of deceit after unfairly favouring Qatari investors over PCP during the banking crisis in 2008.

It is claimed that Staveley had hoped to have her deal for Newcastle tied up by now.

This piece has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are fearing the worst with this takeover.

Do you think this will have any impact?

This certainly seems like an important case for Staveley, and though the takeover might take a back seat as the article claims, there is not much she can do about that, considering the deal is still with the Premier League going through the required checks.

The deal for Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to take control of Newcastle has been with the Premier League since April after a deposit was paid to Mike Ashley, but since then, nothing has happened.

This whole saga appears to have tired these Toon fans out, with many clearly bored of this whole process.

It is unclear when the Premier League will decide on the Toon’s takeover after chief executive Richard Masters confirmed that there is no timescale for this process.

However, if this piece is to be believed, then Staveley was hoping to have the purchase of the Toon wrapped up before her court case began.

Newcastle fans will be hoping that this court case does not cause any further delay to this saga.

The Toon return to action on the 21st of June, so will the Premier League have decided by then? We will just have to wait and see.
