A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from Luke Edwards after he read the statements from Saudi Arabia regarding their attempts to crack down on piracy.
Edwards claims in another tweet that the statement says that the Premier League just had to send an email to stop piracy, which he says is false.
He then says in another tweet that he is now worried and that this has set off alarm bells, and it has not gone down well with these Toon fans who appear sick of the negativity.

Think this results in an unfollow. The most negative person I’ve ever had the displeasure of letting my eyes and brain function on. Give it a rest will you…..

In recent days Saudi Arabia have announced an official crackdown on piracy and also sent a letter to major sports bodies insisting that they will be taking responsibility for stopping piracy.
Do you agree with Edwards?
No, I think he is wrong on this one
Yes, the deal is in trouble because of this
However, despite this, it appears as if Edwards is worried by this statement, and he is right that the Premier League had tried many times to stop piracy in Saudi Arabia.
So, could this annoy the PL and get them to block Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover?
It remains to be seen, but these Toon fans do agree with Edwards’ point of view.
I agree tbh. It’s lovely to be confident but it appears that the Saudis are flapping as much as Bein. Add in the fact that The Trust have seemingly been urged to write a letter to the PL. Anyone not worried at this point, probably should be. It’s obv very much in the balance.

I agree. Also respect you and what you say a lot more after watching @GallowgateShots interview! Some bloke ?

This could cause a problem, but there have also been suggestions that the new measures taken by Saudi Arabia have swayed the Premier League into accepting the deal as well as some slight pressure from the UK government.
As a result of this, Craig Hope believes that the PL’s decision is just days away, and it’s likely to be good news for the takeover.
However, Edwards appears to be worried about this statement, so it remains to be seen what happens and if the Premier League will pass this takeover of Newcastle.
