Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards comments on the club’s ongoing takeover deal.
In his tweet, Edwards quote-tweets a post by The Chronicle, which shared a link to a podcast on which the journalist had featured, before commenting: “Yeah sorry, but if it’s a coin toss there is still a chance… Oh, and if you want to have a row about Bruce, have a listen.”
The ‘coin toss’ that Edwards refers to how highly he would rate the likelihood of Newcastle’s takeover deal going through, stating on the podcast: “I’m now at the point where I’m reducing myself… I’m probably at 50-50.”
In reaction to his comments, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many calling for Edwards to keep quiet on a subject which they believe he knows little about, while others have labelled the journalist as arrogant.
Luke you’ve got to think that causing panic over something your in the dark over isn’t really the best thing to do right now…

To be fair Luke, I reckon the highest you’ve ever been is 60/40. Whenever a little bit of negativity is on the #nufc timeline, the crumbs often lead back to you. That’s not a criticism, you’ve just always been cautious, which is fair enough.

When did you become so arrogant? You haven’t always been like this.

Newcastle’s takeover has been rumbling on for months now, with The Telegraph reporting back in March that the proposed deal had appeared to have moved a step closer, with the Premier League having been informed of a bid led by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia in late January.
Are you confident the takeover will be approved by the Premier League?
Yes
No
However, since then, the Premier League has failed to provide a decision on the matter, causing various news outlets to speculate on the progression of the takeover, as well as parties with objections to the deal being able to voice their concerns.
It would seem that many of these Newcastle fans are fed up with all the uncertainty, as well as unwanted comments.
I have just given up on the club

Seems like they’re waiting for the piracy report to be official next week.

Genuine Q, how has the most sceptical journo Delaney getting timeliness? Masters has said no comment in a variety of ways, but suddenly the EPL are playing it through the media!?
The legal teams must be furloughed

If it doesn’t happen our club is going to be in one hell of a state next season.

In what must be an extremely frustrating time to be a Newcastle fan, unfortunately for them, the only thing they can do is wait and see which way the Premier League decides to go regarding their decision on the takeover.
