Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from journalist Steve Wraith.
This comes after Wraith shared a post on his official Twitter page claiming that Newcastle-related Twitter accounts and journalists “who like to wind you up do not make the decision” regarding the proposed takeover of the club.
Just a reminder to #nufc fans that #nufc twitter accounts and journalists who like to wind you up do not make the decision regarding #NUFCTakeover it is the @premierleague and i am sure that #pcp will have prepared for all potential pitfallls. I remain confident. pic.twitter.com/CTJlXG0Gu2

You really think big Mandy Staveley would sit and organise a takeover for 2 years, send in 350 pages worth of detailed documents to the premier league knowing that it would be rejected for piracy issues (which they would have known about from the start) No chance man.

The proposed deal that would see Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-based consortium replace current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, has been in the hands of the Premier League authorities going through required checks for the deal to go ahead.
Same here steve, its gonna be the usual media playing with fans emotions all day.
Stay calm!?— Jack (@jchaytor16) June 16, 2020
As Wraith pointed out in his tweet, the decision lies completely with the Premier League bosses.
I’m still very confident like always. When you know you know ??

Now that Wraith has shared this latest post with his views on the takeover and how it has been covered and discussed in recent weeks, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter with many Newcastle fans sharing their thoughts on the current situation.
Will the takeover be announced before the season ends?
Yes
No
However, there were some Newcastle fans responding to Wraith’s post who were not as confident as others were on the matter.
I think it’s not happening now Steve . Love your optimism and hope you prove me wrong

It’s off, Steve

Am now worried because Steve only said ‘confident’ rather than 104% I don’t want to know what I’ll do if that number even drops to 99% pic.twitter.com/adDyn5r8Zg

It appears that some Newcastle fans were comforted by Wraith’s personal update on the takeover whereas others remained adamant that the deal would not be going through.
Now that Wraith has shared some sort of clarity on the issue, these Newcastle fans will now just have to wait for the Premier League to be done with their checks and hope the announcement can take place soon.
With the current Premier League season resuming later this week, seeing Steve Bruce’s team back in action should be a welcome distraction from the takeover for these fans.
