Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

Willems joined the Toon on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and he made 19 Premier League appearances for the club before suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Chelsea in January.

This ruled him out for the season and might have put his hopes of moving to Tyneside permanently in doubt.

Newcastle had an option to buy Willems at the end of his loan deal included in his contract, but it is unclear if the Toon will trigger this due to his injury. (Bild via Sport Witness)

However, the ongoing takeover situation could also have an impact on Willems’ future, with it being unclear who the club’s owners will be.

However, this has not stopped these Toon fans from demanding the Dutchman return to Newcastle.

The 26-year-old made quite the impression for Newcastle as he scored two goals and provided two assists in the league for the Toon, and after Newcastle were thrashed by Leicester City, he played in 15 of the next 16 league matches.

He clearly left an impression on many Newcastle fans who continued to laud Willems.

It is good to see Willems back up and running, and it is clear that many Newcastle fans want him back, especially as his replacement Danny Rose has struggled so far.

The man on loan from Tottenham Hotspur has made five league appearances for Newcastle in which he has earned an average rating of just 6.29.

Willems has already spoken about how much he wants to return to Tyneside, but that could depend on how he recovers from this injury and what the ownership situation is like.

However, many of these Newcastle fans want Willems to return to Tyneside as soon as possible.
