A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed comments made by George Caulkin on the current situation regarding refunds at Newcastle.

Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

Caulkin, speaking on the latest Pod on the Tyne podcast, claimed that there is ‘no excuse for the lack of communication’ and that what the club are doing is ‘scandalous’ and ‘disgusting’.

Newcastle are now the only team in the Premier League to not offer some sort of refund to season ticket holders after the Premier League confirmed that the rest of the season would take place behind closed doors.

The club were asked to comment on this situation, but they refused and have left their fans with a wall of silence.

It is fair to say that Caulkin’s comments went down very well with these Toon fans, who totally agree.

Fellow journalist Pete Graves suggested that the ongoing takeover situation is impacting the club’s ability to provide refunds.

However, even if that were the case, it is surely still possible for the club to say something.

Instead, they have not responded to anyone, and that is what has annoyed these fans: the lack of communication.

However, some appear to agree with Graves’ previous point and think that this will all be sorted out as soon as the takeover is complete.

It appears that concerns over piracy and, in particular, a link between the Saudi government and BeoutQ is presenting the Premier League with serious problems in regards to the takeover.

There is also no timescale for this process – as PL chief executive Richard Masters confirmed in a recent interview with Sky Sports.

So, those hoping for a quick resolution to this might be let down and, therefore, we believe that the current hierarchy should be speaking to fans about their season ticket money.
