According to a recent report from Football Insider, Derby County are targeting Sheffield Wednesday left-back Morgan Fox in the summer transfer window.

The report from Football Insider suggests that the Championship side are targeting a new left-back and have set their sights on the Welshman, who is out of contract at Hillsborough in June. However, Wednesday boss Garry Monk recently confirmed that he is keen to keep the 26-year-old, with the club in talks with the defender over a new deal, although nothing has been agreed.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

The report suggests that ‘Middlesbrough are also showing an interest in the Welshman and have made him one of their top targets in the transfer window’, whilst ‘Derby scouts have delivered glowing reports about the performances of Fox’. It certainly seems as if Fox won’t be short of suitors this summer should he fail to agree a new deal at Hillsborough.

TIF Thoughts…

The Owls signed Fox from Charlton Athletic back in January 2017, and in three and a half years with the Sheffield side, he has gone on to make 102 appearances, contributing four goals and six assists (per Transfermarkt). The defender has been a mainstay in Monk’s side so far this season, making 26 appearances in the second division and averaging a solid 6.81/10 rating (per WhoScored).

Do you hope that Morgan Fox signs a new deal?

No

This makes him Sheffield Wednesday’s seventh-best performer in the Championship so far this season (per WhoScored), so it is no surprise that Monk is desperate to keep him, and no surprise that he is attracting interest from the likes of Derby County and Middlesbrough. It will be interesting to see whether Fox decides to stay on with Monk’s side ahead of next season, and whether he plays or not in the remaining Championship fixtures could be an indication of that.
