A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from their club that includes a link to an interview with Javier Manquillo after he signed a new four-year contract to stay on Tyneside.
The Spaniard’s deal was due to expire at the end of the month, but on Thursday, the Toon announced that the former Liverpool man had signed a long-term contract.
Judging by the snippet of the interview included in the tweet, he is clearly delighted to be staying at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle also announced that Andy Carroll had signed a new deal, but it was this tweet about Manquillo that got these Toon fans talking.

Manquillo has made 61 appearances for Newcastle since he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2017 for £4.5m.
This season he has played 15 matches in the Premier League in which Newcastle have lost five games, but they have lost seven without him.
So, he has proved to be a reliable player, especially with competition from DeAndre Yedlin and Emil Krafth.
Steve Bruce also had praise for the 26-year-old in his press conference ahead of the Toon’s clash with Manchester City in the FA Cup.
This led to many Toon fans continuing to praise him.

Manquillo had reportedly been looked at by Crystal Palace and Southampton, but it seems as if he is happy on Tyneside and was pleased to commit his future to Newcastle United.
He has played every minute since the restart and has earned ratings of 6.82 and 6.71/10 respectively – so he is clearly a solid if unspectacular player.
It is good to see so many Newcastle fans pleased with this new contract for Manquillo, and they could be hoping that he can be an important player for the next four years.
