A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which claims that the Toon’s league match with Manchester City might have to be moved away from the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle are currently in the middle of a Saudi-backed takeover that hasn’t proved popular with human rights groups, including Amnesty International, but The Telegraph believes that the reason for this is because of a potential protest or publicity stunt relating to the Toon’s potential takeover.
However, some Toon fans feel that any disturbance will be led by the likes of Richard Keys and Miguel Delaney rather than celebratory fans.
Are you confused by this?

Both Delaney and Keys have been against the proposed takeover of the Toon for a while now – so there is no surprise that Newcastle fans have taken this opportunity to have a dig.
Delaney believes that the deal shouldn’t go through because it will be ‘sportswashing’ while Keys wants the deal stopped because of Saudi-based piracy.
Other replies to this tweet seem to suggest that they find this scenario weird, and others appear to have confused the league match with the FA Cup match.
Newcastle are set to play Pep Guardiola’s side at home in the FA Cup and away in the league, but this has caught some Toon fans out.
Other Newcastle fans just appear to be baffled by this whole thing.
That’s some weird stuff right there?

Can I ask a very simple question, why the Etihad Stadium, aren’t we the home team and St James’ would be the venue and any protest at Citeah would be irrelevant, just saying like??

More madness from the police and premier league…. Neither has a clue about football fans

One other Newcastle fan has taken this opportunity to have a dig at City and particularly the attendance at their ground, which has received some stick in the past.
That would mean people actually turning up at the Etihad…

City’s game against Newcastle is one of just a few matches that are expected to be moved to neutral venues.
However, with the rest of the season finishing behind closed doors, it is hard to see how it will make much difference to either side.
