A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Luke Edwards that includes a link to an article he has produced on Joelinton.
The piece discusses Joelinton as a flop and poses the question of whether he can he improve.
Certainly, this drew the attention of many Toon fans who wanted to have their say on the 23-year-old.
One Newcastle fan was very bold and claimed that the Brazilian would never prove his worth because he is a striker who can’t score goals.
Do you think Joelinton will come good?
Yes
No
Not a chance he will come good. Coming good for a £40m striker is at least a goal every other game. No way he will do that. He will struggle for double figures across a full season

Joelinton was signed for £40m by the Toon last summer, and in 34 appearances, he has scored three goals and provided four assists in all competitions.
Not exactly stellar numbers for a record transfer, and his only goal in the league came in August against Tottenham Hotspur.
So, it is perhaps understandable why this one Newcastle fan does not see the former Hoffenheim man getting better.
However, some Toon fans believe that if Joelinton were playing under a different manager, then Newcastle would see the best of him.
He can come good, under a good manager employing different tactics. Sadly I think Mitro would have been great under Bruce, given the perceived lack of tactical instructions being applied. I think Jolinton needs Rafa, he’s not as bad as people think, just a bad fit for this NUFC.

I feel sorry for him with the system we have the best strikers in the world would find it hard.
If takeover happens give him another year in a new system and see if it helps him… especially in his actual position and not 40 yards deep

Given the right coaching, YES. ??

This could have some substance behind it because Tifo produced a video on Joelinton and concluded that Steve Bruce was misusing him and playing the wrong system.
So, it is easy to see why some Newcastle fans feel he could improve.
The Premier League is set to return on the 17th of June but will be played behind closed doors until the end of the season, and these Toon fans feel that this could help Joelinton.
Have a feeling he might bag a few behind closed doors

Be interesting to see how he plays behind closed doors without the pressure of the fans, I think he might bang a few in and do his confidence the world of good

Imo he will be one of our best player next season and I said that before this takeover. he will improve massively and will have settled right down not a natural finisher imo hes a firmino type player and no before anyone says he isnt that good… yet

Definitely think he’ll benefit from the matches being played behind closed doors. Hopefully the rest of the season allows him to build confidence in the role.

The reason that some Toon fans think this is because he will face less pressure from the stands, considering no one will be there to watch him.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the 23-year-old, but it is good to see that many Newcastle fans have not given up on Joelinton yet.
