Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to a recent post from @NUFC360 in which they shared a link from the Financial Times’ Murad Ahmed.
Ahmed’s link led to a story from the Financial Times in which it is alleged Saudi Arabia has approached Germany’s Bundesliga over a TV rights deal in the Middle East that would see them hijack the ongoing talks with beIN Sports.
BeIN Sports has made no secret of its opposition to the proposed takeover of Newcastle United by a Saudi-backed consortium due to the Kingdom’s involvement in the illegal broadcast of Premier League football through the pirate beoutQ station.
@NUFC360 has suggested this could infuriate beIN Sports further and that this will do nothing in easing their complaints to the Premier League regarding the aforementioned topic. Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded to the post.
Anything that hurts Bein sports is great. Keys will be out of a job soon. I hope they manage to get the PL rights.

Not directly, but the fact KSA are moving for top league football tv rights, means PL is bount to be on their list. If KSA bid, BeIn unlikely to be able to match.
The PL accepting our takeover puts their foot in the door. Same with them stopping piracy. BeIn will be worried.

To all the people that said this was about piracy and not Geopolitics.

Are you expecting an announcement in the coming days?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that many Newcastle supporters have grown tired of beIN Sports’ interference in the takeover of their club. There has still been no official word from the Premier League in regards to their final decision, and so the fans will need to remain patient. However, they continued to make their feelings known regarding the ongoing situation on Twitter.
Piracy aside (especially if it’s eradicated), Qatar don’t have a divine right to MENA sports broadcasting.
If it’s up for grabs, it’s fair game.

Keys is going on Jobseekers ??

Yeah but I think BeIN have pushed as much as they can, the Saudis approaching Bundesliga legally won’t have any impact, in fact it’ll probably prove to people that they are taking this stuff seriously now.

As reported by Chronicle Live, the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust has now written to the Premier League in order to ‘help force a breakthrough’, in support of the proposed owners. The wait for an announcement continues.
