In a recent Q&A on The Athletic’s website, Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee commented on the future of Leroy Sane.

Following a substantial injury lay-off, Leroy Sane made his first appearance on the Manchester City bench in the Premier League this season, during last night’s comfortable 3-0 victory against Arsenal.

Man City fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Yaya Toure quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one... Who did Yaya Toure sign for City from back in 2010?

However, despite Pep Guardiola having five substitutions at his disposal, Sane did not feature in the match, leading one fan to state his belief in the Q&A with Sam Lee that ‘Sane is done at City,’ with his reasoning being that it was evident there was ‘clear friction between him and Pep’.

In reaction, Lee was surprisingly open regarding his own opinion on the future of the 24-year-old, stating: “Course he’s done, he’s going to Bayern Munich*! *Most likely, barring something dramatic.”

TIF Thoughts…

Bayern Munich’s desire to sign Sane has been no secret whatsoever, with the club bidding for the 24-year-old last summer, shortly before the winger injured his ACL during Manchester City’s Community Shield victory against Liverpool back in August, and reportedly maintaining their interest throughout the course of this season.

They have once again gone in for Sane over recent weeks, reportedly offering City €40million (£36million) for the German international, a figure that City have deemed far ‘too little’ (Sport Bild via Sport Witness).

As such, it would appear that Lee is correct in stating that it looks extremely likely that Sane will indeed move to the German champions, be that this season, or when his contract expires next summer.
