According to recent reports, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is increasingly interesting Serie A side Inter.
The reports by Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that the Nerazzurri see Jesus as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martinez – who has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.
The report goes on to state that City would be willing to part with Jesus for a figure starting at £63m, while the Italian paper also claims that the relationship between Jesus and Pep Guardiola ‘isn’t idyllic’, also pointing out that despite Jesus’ talent, Sergio Aguero is still very much the Spaniard’s number-one striker at the club.
TIF Thoughts…
Since moving to Manchester City from Palmeiras for a fee of £28.8m back in 2017, the Brazilian international has gone on to make 140 appearances for the Citizens, scoring 63 goals and providing 25 assists.
Jesus has been in fine form once again this season, scoring 18 goals and providing nine assists over 40 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City.
As such, considering his obvious talent, as well as his young age, it would seem highly unlikely that City would be willing to part with Jesus for anything less than the £63m reported.
Is Jesus good enough to be City's number one striker after Aguero?
Yes
No
However, if it is indeed true that the Brazilian’s relationship with Guardiola is not overly good, it is not difficult to imagine the player being sold in order for the club to please the Spaniard.
