Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding the club’s upcoming court date in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

According to recent reports in the Mirror, City could have to wait for up to two months to learn whether their appeal against their two-year ban from European football will be upheld.

The report goes on to state that although Ferran Soriano, City’s chief executive, has declared that he and the club would like an “early resolution” to the case, CAS sources have claimed that a decision could take up to two months to be delivered.

However, this is not only bad news for City, as it is reported that UEFA would also prefer that the appeal decision is delivered sooner rather than later, and definitely before the draw is made for next season’s Champions League group stage.

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many questioning why the findings will take so long.

While it would appear that some of these City fans are taking aim at UEFA, it should be remembered that City’s ban was given not simply because the club broke financial fair play regulations, but also because they seriously misled European football’s governing body in their investigations into the club.

As such, it may be wise for City fans to not put the cart before the horse when it comes to being confident as to the result of their appeal, however, it would seem that other fans of the club are quite happy to wait for the verdict to be revealed, while some have pointed out that the longer the decision takes to make, the more likely City are to feature in the Champions League again next season.

As the last fan suggests, there really is not much else City fans can do other than wait to see whether or not CAS does end up overturning their ban.
