The 29-year-old, who is currently valued at £43.2 million according to Transfermarkt, first signed to the German club back in 2013 from Barcelona for a fee of £22.5 million.

Since then, the midfielder has gone on to make 230 appearances for Bayern in which he has managed to score 31 goals and provide 37 assists (per Transfermarkt) whilst winning a plethora of titles along the way.

This season, in particular, has seen Thiago make 24 appearances in the Bundesliga in which he has earned himself a season rating of 7.47/10 for his appearances, making him Bayern’s fourth-highest-rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

However, numerous injuries have disrupted his time in Germany, resulting in Thiago missing a lot of games for the club since first signing.

TIF Thoughts…

Considering how Liverpool are currently the reigning Champions League holders and now the newly-crowned Premier League champions, it may not need much effort from Klopp to try and persuade Thiago to make the move to Merseyside this summer.

According to WhoScored, some of Thiago’s attacking strengths include his passing and his dribbling skills, whereas some of his defensive strengths include his tackling skills and his ability to intercept the ball from his opponents.

These defensive attributes, in particular, could make him a good fit at Liverpool as WhoScored claim one of their team weaknesses is their inability to stop their opponents from creating goalscoring chances.
