Everton are eyeing a swoop to seal Kurt Zouma’s return to Goodison Park from Chelsea in the next transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, as cited by Inside Futbol, the 25-year-old centre-back could be on the move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

This has alerted Carlo Ancelotti and the Toffees, who are now keeping tabs on their former loan player’s situation in London.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

However, the Merseyside outfit is not alone in their interest in Zouma, as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring the Frenchman’s availability.

Spurs’ Portuguese gaffer, who signed Zouma for Chelsea in 2014, reportedly appreciates the defender’s qualities and the two keep in touch.

The French centre-back currently has a contract which will run for three more seasons with the Blues following the conclusion of this term (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

While on loan with the Toffees during the 2018/19 season, Zouma delivered solid performances for the Goodison Park club as he picked up a 6.78/10 average rating in the Premier League (per WhoScored).

This season, Zouma has delivered an even more impressive 6.9/10 average rating for Frank Lampard’s outfit over 22 top-flight appearances.

The rating has made Zouma the 11th-best performer for Chelsea in the Premier League this season (per WhoScored) and would suggest that he has improved since his time on Merseyside.

Do you believe there is any chance of Everton signing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea?

Meanwhile, when the Frenchman’s statistics are compared with Yerry Mina’s, it may appear that the two would complement one another well due to seemingly specialising in different areas of defending.

For Chelsea, Zouma, who is valued at £25.2 million (Transfermarkt), has made 1 tackle and 1.9 interceptions per league game on average, whereas Mina has made 1.5 tackles and 1 interception per league outing on average for Everton.

So, if there is any chance that the Toffees could tempt the 25-year-old centre-back to return up north, he may make a solid pair with Everton’s Colombian defender due to their differing strengths.
