Supporters of Everton have been responding to a tweet which was posted to the Toffees’ official Twitter account regarding Festa della Repubblica.

On Tuesday, the Goodison Park club shared a tweet which stated: ‘Happy Republic Day to Carlo Ancelotti and all our Italian supporters!’ (per Everton).

However, there appeared to be a notable absentee from the club’s well-wishes – Italian striker Moise Kean.

Kean has been with the Toffees since the Merseyside outfit secured his services from Serie A club Juventus for around £27.5million last summer (per BBC).

The 20-year-old has been embroiled in controversy in recent weeks, though, after the striker was revealed to have broken the UK government’s lockdown rules (per Daily Star).

Everton were reportedly ‘appalled‘ by the fact the starlet held a party at his apartment while the country remained in strict lockdown measures.

It was then later reported that Kean did not know that he was breaking lockdown rules by hosting a party at his apartment (per The Daily Mail).

However, following the club’s Twitter post for Festa della Repubblica, many supporters were quick to notice the fact that the 20-year-old had not been included in the tweet.

We'll start easy for this Everton kits quiz, which shirt sponsor did the Toffees announce that their partnership with would be being brought to a premature end earlier this season?

It is fair to say that Kean’s time in Merseyside so far has not only been turbulent off the pitch, as the player has struggled for consistent form on it and has picked up a 6.3/10 average rating in the league (per WhoScored).

Will Moise Kean ever come good for the Toffees or should he be sold?

He'll come good, just needs time

Should be sold, not good enough

Should be sold, not good enough

Not only has Kean’s average rating across his 22 league appearances been poor, but it has also made him the third-worst performer for the Toffees in the Premier League this term.

However, while some fans criticised the club for not including Kean in the tweet, other supporters did not mention the fact that he was missing from the post.

As can be seen in the majority of these responses from Everton supporters, though, they were disappointed to see the club leave the 20-year-old forward out of the well-wishes.
