According to recent reports in the Daily Mail, Vitória Guimarães SC defender Falaye Sacko is understood to be attracting interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham.

The reports state that the right-back has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including some from Bundesliga and Ligue 1, however, that Crystal Palace and West Ham have both already contacted Sacko’s advisors regarding a summer move for the 25-year-old, with the reports suggesting that a move to the Premier League is ‘a growing possibility’ for the Mali international.

TIF Thoughts…

Since being promoted from Vitória Guimarães SC B back in 2018, the right-back has gone on to make 63 appearances for the club, providing eight assists (per Transfermarkt).

So far this season, Sacko has made 16 appearances in Liga NOS, providing three assists, and averaging 2.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.8 clearances per game, in addition to an impressive average WhoScored match rating of 6.97.

The Mali international has also made three appearances in this season’s Europa League finals, although his performances in the European competition have been rather less impressive in comparison to his league form, with the right-back averaging a 6.21 match rating.

As such, should Palace make a move for the £2.52million-rated defender, it would seem as if they would be getting a fairly consistent performer, adept at both making tackles and clearances.

Do you think that Sacko would be a good signing for Palace?

However, it would also seem that Sacko has struggled against tougher opposition in the Europa League, meaning that making the step up to Premier League football could be something that the defender struggles to do.
