According to recent reports by France Football (via Sport Witness), Olympique Marseille central midfielder Morgan Sanson looks set to leave the French side this summer, with Crystal Palace and West Ham United both reportedly interested in the 25-year-old.

According to the reports, Marseille have ‘a need to recoup around €60million (£53.8million) this summer,’ meaning that several first-team players are likely to be sold over the upcoming transfer window.

As such, France Football have reported that Sanson could very well be one of the players moved on, before claiming that both West Ham and Crystal Palace – both of whom have previously been linked with the midfielder (France Football via Sport Witness) – would be interested in the 25-year-old, who is currently valued at £20.25million.

TIF Thoughts…

It is somewhat surprising to read that Marseille are reportedly so keen to move Sanson on this summer, as the player has been in fine form for the French side throughout his time at the club.

Since joining Marseille from HSC Montpellier for a fee of £8.10million back in 2017, the midfielder has gone on to make 138 appearances for Les Olympiens, scoring 23 goals and providing 19 assists.

This season, Sanson has featured 27 times in Ligue 1, scoring five goals and providing four assists, averaging a total of 1.4 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game, as well as a respectable average WhoScored match rating of 6.97, with his performances helping his side to reach second place in the Ligue 1 table.

As such, should Palace or West Ham be successful in their attempts to sign the 25-year-old, it would appear as if they would be getting a player who creates chances – both for himself and for his teammates – on an impressively consistent basis.
