Speaking on the latest episode of Aston Villa-focused podcast Holtecast, Neil Dunworth has revealed his thoughts on Jack Grealish.

Who scored Villa's goal in their 1-0 win against Stoke City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season?

Dunworth discussed many Aston Villa-related topics throughout the podcast, but he spent a bit of time on Grealish and was full of praise for the 24-year-old.

Here is what he had to say about Grealish:

“For me he’s undroppable, he’s the club captain, he’s our saleable asset, and I don’t mean it as in we definitely should be getting rid of him, but you don’t drop him, and give people the opportunity to talk negatively about him anymore just for the sake of trying to shake something up.

“He’s our best player – play our best players. If you think that taking off our most creative player is going to make us in some way more creative, well then, you need to have a very good backup argument to that, and for me, I just haven’t seen it yet.”

It seems as if Dunworth does not believe that dropping Grealish would solve Villa’s woes.

Do you think Grealish should be dropped?

No, what an awful idea

TIF Thoughts…

It seems bizarre that for a team in 19th place and with no win in eight Premier League games, they would even consider dropping their top goalscorer from the side.

Grealish is not just Villa’s top Premier League goalscorer as he has also provided the most assists, had the most shots and completed the most passes.

This perhaps shows just how important he is to Dean Smith’s side.

Villa are only in the relegation zone on goal difference, but you would think that if they are going to have any chance of survival, they will need Grealish in the side.
