Robertson spoke about the Gunners’ woes, amongst other things, but spent quite a bit of time on the 21-year-old after he was not retrospectively banned for grabbing Neal Maupay’s neck.

Here is what Robertson had to say on Guendouzi:

“I went back to the game against Spurs last September when they drew 2-2, and he had a good second half.

“I think he curled in a really good ball for [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang to equalise and I remember the reaction afterwards – people were saying he should be Arsenal’s captain going forward for years.

“I think Ian Wright said that, and so many people acting as if he was this person that the team should be built around, and I was gobsmacked with it.

“The idea that he is the shining light; he runs around a lot, he demonstrates spirit, but he can’t channel it in the right way.

“He’s a liability, and as long as he is in the team, he will cost the team points.”

Robertson has not held back in his assessment of Guendouzi, and he appears not to rate the Frenchman.

TIF Thoughts…

Guendouzi, who is valued at £36.45 million (as per Transfermarkt), was also apparently gloating to Brighton & Hove Albion’s players about his wages throughout the match, which is not a good look.

Perhaps he should have been focusing on his own performance, as since the Gunners have returned to action, he has earned poor ratings of 5.99 and 6.33 against Manchester City and Brighton respectively.

Robertson clearly is not a fan of the 21-year-old, and since Guendouzi has arrived at the Emirates, he has made 82 appearances for Arsenal and picked up a staggering 20 yellow cards.

However, since Mikel Arteta took over, he has played in 12 of the Spaniard’s 17 matches.

So, it seems that his new manager likes him, but Robertson is clearly not a fan of Guendouzi.
