A move for Chris Hughton is reportedly not on the cards this summer for Birmingham City, with Birmingham Live suggesting that the chances of him returning to the club are slim.

It was announced earlier this week that current manager Pep Clotet would be leaving at the end of the season, which has unsurprisingly sparked rumours on who will take over from the Spaniard. Hughton was one of the names linked with the Championship side, although it now seems as if a return to St. Andrew’s is no longer on the cards.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

The 61-year-old was sacked as Brighton boss at the end of last season, despite keeping the Seagulls up (per BBC) and is said to be currently considering his next move but it seemingly won’t be with Birmingham City. The Irish manager has, of course, taken charge of Birmingham in the past, spending just less than a year at the club between 2011-2012 (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

During his time as Blues boss, Hughton took charge of 62 games, winning 26, drawing 21, and losing 15, which earned him a points-per-game average of 1.60 (per Transfermarkt). That was enough to see the Blues finish in fourth place in the Championship, but they were knocked out in the playoffs by Blackpool 3-2 on aggregate (per Sky Sports).

Are you disappointed that Hughton seemingly won't be returning to Birmingham?

Hughton’s impressive season with Birmingham led to him joining Norwich City that summer but it seems as if he won’t be making a return to the Blues this summer. It will be interesting to see who takes over from Clotet ahead of next season and whether they can improve on Birmingham’s current standing of 16th in England’s second tier.
