Some West Bromwich Albion fans have been discussing the latest EFL update which involves potentially playing some games at neutral venues whenever football resumes.
Baggies-related page West Brom Live recently relayed a news article from the Birmingham Mail. This article talked about the situation surrounding the resumption of the Championship season.
The Times was the original source of this article and they stated that games in the Championship could be moved to neutral venues and this can include games involving West Brom and Leeds United. This can be done to ward off any risk of fans potentially breaching social distancing guidelines.
When West Brom Live relayed this information on Twitter, many Baggies fans flocked to the update. Many of them feel that this rule is unfair.
This does seem a strange decision especially when other champ clubs have big followings. Tbh though every game will feel like a neutral venue without fans! But the rule has to be same for all otherwise it can’t be fair

Is it unfair that WBA can play at neutral venues?
It is very unfair
Its the right thing!
This is why trusting the EFL to carry out the rest of the season was always going to be a bad idea. I said it the day the club announced that the season would continue. Any way they can screw us and Leeds over they will.

Simple.. if it’s not a level playing field vote not to play and we get promoted ?

No way can 2 or 3 clubs play on Neutral ground but the other clubs play at there own stadiums. No club in there right mind would allow this. I could maybe see the odd game maybe moved like there on. About in Prem on police advise but not all there games

This could also happen for some Premier League fixtures, The Times has said. As for the Championship, a report from the Birmingham Mail has said that there is a commitment from the league bosses that the fixtures will restart whenever it is safe to do so. It says that Leeds and West Brom are ‘making it clear’ that they want to earn promotion to the Premier League by playing out the remaining games.
The report also says that Championship clubs are set to vote next week and a points-per-game rule will be used if the Championship doesn’t resume.
While the idea of neutral venues isn’t liked by some Baggies fans, some feel that it doesn’t matter to them.

While fans are certainly entitled to their opinion, it can come down to the abilities of the players if games resume behind closed doors. So West Brom fans can hope that the club’s players can get them over the line and help them earn promotion.
