Some Sunderland fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Black Cats-focused Twitter account @BlackCatsHQ which asks the club’s supporters whether or not they would renew Duncan Watmore’s contract at The Stadium of Light.

Watmore originally moved to Sunderland from non-league club Altrincham back in May 2013, as per the BBC. According to Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old attacker’s current Sunderland contract is set to expire at the end of June, raising the question of whether or not the player, who is currently valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt, should receive a new contract offer.

Plenty of Black Cats fans have been responding to this post about Watmore and many of those who have replied to this tweet have shared that they wouldn’t like to see the attacker get offered a new deal with the club. Read the responses of some Sunderland fans to this post in the tweets below.

Would you offer Duncan Watmore a new deal to stay at Sunderland?

NOT A CHANCE

NOT A CHANCE

I WOULD

I WOULD

What do we think?

Since moving to The Stadium of Light, Watmore has made a total of 87 appearances for Sunderland’s first team. The attacker has scored just eight goals in that time, providing 11 assists. It may be fair to say that Watmore hasn’t exactly set the world alight since joining Sunderland and it may be understandable why these Black Cats supporters seem to feel that they have seen enough of him at The Stadium of Light.
