Sheffield Wednesday-focused journalist Joe Crann recently caught the attention of some Owls fans after he posted a tweet sharing an image featuring Owls players Fernando Forestieri and Atdhe Nuhiu “social-distancing and masked up” at a recent Sheffield Wednesday training session.
As per Wednesday’s official website, the Owls returned to training this past Monday for the first time since professional football was postponed in England back in March.
This image showing Forestieri and Nuhiu at training has drawn a mixed response from the Wednesday fans who have been responding to Crann’s post. While some Owls fans have shared some encouragement for their players in response to this post, other Wednesday supporters have been more critical of these players and of their team in general in response to Crann’s tweet.

Nuhiu more use as a corner flag than as a striker. Hopefully both of these players will be on their way out at the end of the season.

Get rid of both.

What do we think?
Wednesday currently sit in 15th place on the Championship table, eight points away from the play-offs and nine points away from the relegation zone. The Owls only finished in the bottom half of the league table in one of the last four seasons prior to the current one.
With that in mind, it may be fair to say that Owls fans may have expected a better performance from their side this season and it might be understandable why Wednesday’s players may not be incredibly popular with their fans at the moment, which may explain why some Owls supporters have reacted negatively to this post.
