Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk has confirmed his players are set to return to the club’s training facility from Monday next week (via swfc.co.uk). Initially, the Owls will return in ‘phased training groups’ and it appears as though we may be seeing the ‘first shoots of recovery’ as far as EFL football is concerned.
The 41-year-old told the club’s official website that the players and all staff will be tested for the virus prior to them being able to go back to training in small groups. He also said that he had spoken with all of the players and explained how things were going to work before adding that nobody had expressed any desire not to return.
Here is how some of the club’s faithful have responded to the update on Twitter.
Is he still there ?

Will you be utilising Joey pelupessy skillset to play football whilst social distancing from the opposition?

What do we think?
It’s clear that Garry Monk is not a popular figure amongst some of these Sheffield Wednesday fans and one took the opportunity to take a swipe at the club’s Dutch defensive midfielder Joey Pelupessy. The Owls currently find themselves 15th in the Championship and a position in the playoffs seems unlikely at this stage, however, given Monk’s update it seems that the EFL is keen to conclude the season if it is deemed safe to do so.
