A group of Sheffield Wednesday fans have been discussing some footage from an interview given by former player Sean Clare which was shared on Twitter via @OutContextSWFC. The 23-year-old left Hillsborough in July 2018 and signed for the Scottish club Hearts that September.
In the interview, the 23-year-old was full of praise for his new club upon joining and even dismissed claims that Hearts winning the Scottish Premiership was unrealistic. In his first season at Tynecastle Park, he made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing his teammates with three assists (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). The Edinburgh-based club finished 6th that season.
In the 2019/20 campaign, Clare made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and contributing three assists prior to the season being ended early. However, given the club’s position at the foot of the table, they have been relegated from the Scottish Premiership following its premature conclusion – and as a result, some of the Owls fans mocked their former midfielder in the replies to this post.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that none of these Sheffield Wednesday supporters have much sympathy for their former player after he rejected a contract from the Hillsborough club prior to moving north of the border (as per the Star).
