Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account which features some highlights of the Owls’ 2-1 win over Hull City from 30 April 2005.
Many Owls fans have been reacting positively to this footage which features a “late, late winning goal” from James Quinn, as stated by the club’s tweet. The tweet sharing this footage also states that “the commentator here could barely contain his excitement”, which may be humorous to some, as it may be fair to say that the commentator is actually quite subdued in his reaction to Wednesday’s late winning goal.

While some Owls fans shared some positive memories of this footage, other Wednesday supporters took the opportunity to discuss the commentator’s lack of excitement over the Owls’ late winning goal.
Remember being in the garden listening to RS when it went in and running round the garden for ages. Think the local commentary was a bit more excited!!?

Can’t remember feeling as unexcited as the commentator when that winner went in ??

What do we think?
As per the BBC’s post-match report from this game, Quinn’s “last-minute winner” in this contest “secured a play-off place for Sheffield Wednesday” for the 2004/05 League One season.
Wednesday would go on to win the play-offs, thus earning promotion from League One to the Championship that term. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Owls fans hold some positive memories of this game.
