What do we think?
As per the Telegraph, Morrison was just 17 years and 18 days old when he made his first Premier League appearance for Sheffield Wednesday in December 1998. He remained a Wednesday player until February 2003 when he moved to the Owls’ local rivals Sheffield United. However, Morrison only spent five months as a Blades player before joining Stockport in July 2003.
The player would go on to switch clubs on another two occasions over the following three years, indicating that his career may have become fairly turbulent after leaving Wednesday.
Morrison moved back to his native Derry in January 2008 and he would spend the rest of his professional career at clubs in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United States.
Considering that he made his Premier League debut as a teenager and ultimately didn’t enjoy a very long career at the top of the game, it may be understandable why some may feel that Morrison is an example of wasted talent.
