Jimmy Stone, who is the Head of Social Media for the London Marathon, recently posted a tweet criticising ex-Addicks chairman Matt Southall, which has caught the attention of many Charlton supporters.
A former Addicks employee, Stone’s tweet follows the news that police were allegedly “called in to recoup two club cars” from Southall, as per a report in the Daily Mail, which goes on to explain that Southall had failed to return a couple of club-owned Range Rovers – both of which are worth over £100k, according to this report.
As per TalkSPORT, Charlton’s majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer became embroiled in a public row with Southall. In the midst of this row, Nimer accused Charlton’s now ex-chairman of “using his money to fund a lavish lifestyle, including the purchase of a Range Rover”, as explained in this report from the Evening Standard.
Plenty of Addicks fans have flocked to this tweet to share criticisms of their own for Southall. Read the responses of some Addicks fans to this post in the tweets below.

I would love to hear how Matt Southall could possibly justify his partner owning a £100k Range Rover that’s been paid for by Charlton Athletic. #cafc

I’ve seen him try and justify it by stating they weren’t paid for up-front – i.e they’re on finance. Completely ignoring that they’re still liabilities due.. not the greatest business mind.
Even if they were legitimate though, how do you justify the choice of a £100k option?!

What do we think?
Following the recent reports that police have had to seize two club cars from Southall, it may not come as a surprise that some Charlton fans have been critical of the club’s ex-chairman in response to this tweet.
