Some Charlton Athletic fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Addicks-focused Twitter account @VitalCharlton which has shared a screenshot of some comments that the club’s majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer has allegedly made via a direct message through his Instagram account

Back in March, The Evening Standard reported that Nimer, who completed a takeover of the club back in January with his ‘East Street Investments’ group, “has explored options to sell the club before his takeover has been fully ratified by the EFL.”

Now, @VitalCharlton’s screenshot shares an apparent conversation with Nimer’s official Instagram account in which the Charlton owner was asked if he is selling the club. The account responds to this message with “everything will be okay,” before stating “don’t listen to the media.” The account follows up these messages with another which seems to clarify that the person who had sent this message is Nimer’s assistant, rather than Nimer himself.

These alleged comments from Nimer’s Instagram account have drawn the attention of plenty of Addicks fans, many of whom have been sharing that they don’t trust Nimer in response to this post. Read the reactions of some Addicks fans to this post in the tweets below.

Do you think that Tahnoon Nimer is in the process of selling Charlton Athletic?

YES, I THINK SO

NO, I DON'T THINK SO

NO, I DON'T THINK SO

What do we think?

As per The Evening Standard, since taking over Charlton, “Nimer has so far failed to provide source and sufficiency of funding to the EFL”, resulting in the EFL launching an investigation into his takeover.

With all of this drama surrounding the club since his takeover, it may not be surprising that these Addicks fans don’t appear to be big fans of Nimer.
