Charlton Athletic-focused Twitter account @100PercentCafc caught the attention of many Addicks fans recently after they posted a tweet asking their club’s supporters to rate Adam Matthews’ season out of 10.
Plenty of Charlton supporters have had their say on the right-back in response to this tweet, with many of those responding with praise for the 28-year-old Welshman. One Addicks fan even declared that Matthews has been Charlton’s “best defender” this term.

Matthews was released by League One side Sunderland at the end of the 2018/19 campaign. The former Wales international subsequently joined the newly-promoted Addicks in September “after a spell on trial at The Valley”, as per the BBC.
The 28-year-old only signed a one-year deal upon moving to the club, with this contract currently set to expire at the end of June, according to Transfermarkt. However, judging by these Charlton fans’ recent comments on the right-back, it may be fair to say that Matthews might have managed to make a positive impression on some Addicks fans this season, which could be a positive sign for his future.
