Some Charlton Athletic fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Addicks-focused Twitter account @AddicksHQ which asks the club’s supporters whether or not they would welcome a permanent move for Birmingham City’s David Davis after what they’ve seen of him so far at The Valley.
Davis moved to Charlton back in January, on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season. As per WhoScored, the midfielder has made five league appearances for the Addicks thus far, making one assist and earning an average overall rating of 6.53 for Charlton. 16 other Charlton players have earned a higher average overall rating than Davis in the league this term.
It may be fair to say that Davis has struggled to make much of an impact at Charlton thus far and with that in mind, it may not come as a big surprise that some Charlton fans have been responding to @AddicksHQ’s post about the midfielder by declaring that they don’t want Davis to make a permanent move to The Valley. Wouldn’t take any of the January loans tbh, none of them impressed at all.

Would you like to see David Davis at The Valley next season?YESNO |
His always looked a decent player when his played against us but hasn’t done anything to stay here permanently! Got the impression was only a short term fix anyway, liked at Birmingham

What do we think?
Davis is an experienced player with 343 first-team appearances to his name throughout his career, 215 of which have come in the Championship. With that in mind, it may be harsh to judge Davis solely on his short time at The Valley so far and the 29-year-old may have something to offer Charlton if given more time to make an impact at the club.
