Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest comments of Walter Smith that emerged on social media recently.
Smith was recently talking to Sky Sports (via the Scottish Sun) and spoke about the club’s recent title win. He said that the Hoops have had a ‘really good team’ and generally talked about the club’s capture of their ninth Premiership title in a row.
Walter has risked the ire of the Celtic fanbase by aiming a cheeky dig at his Old Firm rivals – by rephrasing his appraisal of Celtic’s ninth successive title by congratulating them on winning ‘eight championships in a row and now this one for a ninth’ – seemingly devaluing their recent triumph.
The Scottish Sun also relayed this on Twitter. Many Celtic fans flocked to it and made their opinion about Smith known.

What do we think?
These Celtic fans don’t seem to like Smith too much. Considering how he’s long been associated with Rangers in the past, they certainly have their reasons for that.
However, regardless of Smith’s connections with their Old Firm rivals, it is clear that these Hoops fans have understandably not taken too kindly to the ex-Gers boss as he apparently looks to trivialise their latest achievement.
