Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest post involving Georgios Samaras that caught their attention on Twitter.
Celtic Soccer Show recently posted an image of Samaras on Twitter. The post also carried a quote from the former Celtic striker in which he talked about how winning trophies as a player is more important for memories. He gave this interview back in 2013.
Many Celtic fans flocked to this tweet. Some of them talked about the statement, while others talked about Samaras himself.

Do you think Samaras left Celtic because of greed?
He surely did
I don't think so
Bang on big man, didn’t take to him for a while but he finally understood what the club was all about his final couple seasons??

It’s not all about the money, sometimes it’s about the history and the passion and finding a home that’s right for you.

Samaras had joined the Hoops initially on loan from Manchester City in the winter of 2008. But the move to Parkhead was made permanent in the summer of 2008. After six years at the club, he left Celtic for West Brom in the summer of 2014 (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Celtic fans seem to have a variety of opinion about what Samaras said. The irony lies in the fact that Samaras did leave for a Premier League side, but the fact that the Greek striker won four Scottish Premiership titles and two Scottish Cups at Celtic shows that he did win a fair share of trophies at Parkhead and Celtic fans should respect that.
