Deila had been at Parkhead for two years. He had joined the club in the summer of 2014 and left the club in the summer of 2016. He left the club for Norwegian side Valerenga and is currently managing American club New York City FC (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Celtic fans clearly seem to be pleased by Deila and his comments. Since the Norwegian won the Premiership title in both of his seasons at Parkhead, he has certainly played a crucial role in Celtic reaching nine titles in a row. In that sense, Celtic fans are right to respect him for his contributions to the club.
