Some Celtic fans have been fuming at Tom English after the journalist recently relayed a tweet on social media.
English’s tweet saw him quote-tweet a post from the Scottish Sun, which had relayed St. Mirren chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick’s comments about why Hearts deserved to get relegated.
English shared this tweet, saying that Fitzpatrick is using ‘deflection tactics’ as St. Mirren couldn’t achieve the goal that he had set out for his team. Fitzpatrick had previously claimed that his side were capable of qualifying for Europe.
This tweet attracted many Celtic fans. They made their anger for English very clear.
Uncle Tom is raging. Poor show from a supposed professional. Grow up, man.

Does Tom English have an agenda against Celtic?
Absolutely
No, he's doing his job!
The man to speak of deflecting tactics
Wow just wow

Ingenious deflection tactics from @TEnglishSport , running a nothing story when yesterday the complicit and involved @SFA let corrupt & cheating @RangersFC off hook. Not interested in this huge story? Under orders?

Hearts were recently confirmed to have been relegated from the Premiership, while St Mirren finished ninth and had only six more points than Hearts. Like Rangers though, Hearts had been against the SPFL with regards to the recent vote which took place before the league was ended.
What do we think?
The comments of the Celtic fans show that they don’t like English’s stance at all. Since English has admitted to being a Rangers fan and he has shown his anti-SPFL stance in the past, one can see why Celtic fans don’t have a liking for the BBC journalist.
